The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) identified real possibilities of optimizing the budget expenditure by over 2 billion lei, said the party’s leader Andrei Năstase. In a press briefing, the politician proposed redirecting the resources for allocating one-time allowances of 1,000 lei to each pensioner whose pension is lower than the average official salary. A sum of 650 million lei is needed for the purpose, IPN reports.
The PPPDA suggests increasing the SME support fund by 457 million lei to 500 million and later to over 1 billion lei with EU financing.
Andrei Năstase also proposes allocating 70 million lei in unemployment assistance to patent holders for the period the markets are closed and augmenting the National Agriculture Development Fund by 500 million lei and the Regional Development Fund by 300 million lei.
According to the PPPDA, the Government’s emergency fund should be supplemented with 50 million lei so as pay compensations to those who are in the frontline – doctors, police officers, soldiers.
“We insist on the allocation of targeted financial support, which would help save minimum 545 million lei,” stated Andrei Năstase.
The party’s vice president Alexandru Slusari said that if the amendments to the budget proposed by the Government are adopted, a large part of the budget funds will be wasted, but this is inacceptable in the situation in which Moldova is now.
PPPDA MP Igor Munteanu noted that all the useless costs covered with state budget funds should be eliminated in the current conditions of state of emergency and 2.3 billion lei can be saved as a result. The money can be used to allocate financial support to each pensioner, business entity and the diaspora.
The MPs registered the proposed amendments and expect that most of the MPs will support them.
