The party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) submitted a statement to the government whereby it suggests measures to support the small and medium-sized enterprises and ensure the socioeconomic rehabilitation of Moldova, IPN reports.

According to PPPDA deputy head Alexandu Slusari, the measures were proposed in connection with the adoption by Parliament a year ago of the law that provides tax concession to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. But this law hasn’t been yet implemented.

The PPPDA suggests halving the income tax rate for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the production sector for the next five years, on condition that the given enterprises employ at least three persons and the average salary at the enterprise is not lower than the average official salary. Another proposal is to simplify the accounting procedures for these enterprises or to maintain the current system of commercial activity based on the entrepreneur’s patent for the next five years.

The party also proposed creating a special small business support department at the Ministry of Economy. According to the authors, the proposals were discussed with experts and organizations in the field and do not require large state budget funds for being implemented.

“Our call to the government is to take what’s best from our proposals and to implement these in favor of the people. If this is not done, the proposals will be put into practice when we come to power,” said PPPDA leader Andrei Nastase.

Sales revenues of SMEs last year came to 125 million lei, which is 41.5% of the total sales revenues in the economy. The SMEs numbered 51,600, an increase of 1,000 enterprises on 2015. These represent 98% of all the enterprises operating in the country. In 2016, the SMEs employed over 300,000 people or 61% of the personnel of companies of the national economy.
