MPs of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) call on the Government to take measures to ensure the supply of the population with more and cheaper protective devices, such as masks, gloves, shoe covers and gowns, IPN reports.
The head of the PPPDA’s parliamentary group Alexandru Slusari said that over 450 companies operate in this sphere and about 30,000 people worked for these before the pandemic.
The group suggests extending the state orders for purchasing personal protective equipment from a number of textile companies, which now face enormous difficulties, during the state of emergency and increasing financing based on the Ministry of Health’s estimates of the needs of such equipment.
The PPPDA MPs also propose cancelling the VAT and other customs duties on the import of raw material for purchasing personal protective equipment and simplifying the procedures for importing raw material and auxiliary items needed for making such equipment through green customs corridors.
