Representatives of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” registered a bill aimed at improving the life of war veterans with the Parliament’s Secretariat. Under the bill, the monthly allowance for participants in war who remained disabled as a result of injury or of a disease caught while on the battlefield will be raised, IPN reports.

MP Kiril Moțpan said the veterans with severe disabilities would receive an allowance of 1,500 lei a month. This category consists of 87 persons. 1,000 lei would be paid to 622 veterans with accentuated disabilities and 750 lei to 315 persons with medium disabilities.

According to the National House of Social Insurance, 1,024 veterans with different injures were on its lists of beneficiaries of assistance on January 1, 2020.

The PPPDA MP called on the veterans not to hesitate to say it clearly what happened in 1992, what was the attitude of the subsequent governments and what problems they face now.

“During these 28 years, the governments did nothing but profited from your sacrifice, ignoring your values and real needs. Those who are in power speak about the horrors of the war only in abstract terms as they never experienced these. You did. Those who are in power are afraid not to scare their superiors in Russia and stubbornly deny things that you saw with your own eyes – that it wasn’t a fratricide war or a civil war, but was a war between the troops of the 14th Army and the recently formed troops of the Republic of Moldova,” stated Kiril Moțpan.

He expressed his recognition for the courage shown by the veterans in 1992 and thanked them for what they did.
