A legislative initiative to approve the statement on the crass illegalities committed by the separatist regime and the government’s lack of reaction was submitted to the Parliament by MP Kiril Moțpa in the name of the parliamentary group of the PPPDA on July 14. According to the MP, all the members of their group signed the bill and expect that their mates, regardless of the party of which they form part, will take attitude towards those who systematically violate the country’s integrity and sovereignty, IPN reports.

Kiril Moțpan said the separatist regime in the Transnistrian region regularly violates the signed agreements and encroaches upon people’s rights, first of all the right to free movement. The responsible authorities of the Republic of Moldova didn’t take a firm attitude or efficient measures to stop this situation. Therefore, Moldova’s Parliament, as the representative of all the citizens, is obliged to devote attention to the given situation, to give a proper appraisal and to ask the responsible bodies to take the necessary measures.

The UNION Political Movement today protested in Varnița village of Anenii Noi district, against a checkpoint that was illegally built by the Transnistrian authorities, in a move to sensitize public opinion and exert pressure on the Moldovan authorities so that they immediately take action to remedy the situation that was intentionally created by the separatist regime.

The Movement asks the MPs of good faith to set up a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the issue so as to defend the rights of the people living on the left side of the Nistru, who are prevented from travelling to their farmland as well. The illegal placing of the 37 checkpoints obstructs the free movement of people, who are intimidated and subject to illegal control by the separatists on the territory that is administered by the Moldovan authorities.
