The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) filed the documents for being registered as a contender in the July 11 snap parliamentary elections to the Central Election Commission. The CEC has seven days to take a decision as to the party’s registration, IPN reports.

The party’s leader Andrei Năstase told the press that their electoral list contains 101 candidates. These are upright, competent persons who in time showed that they can deliver good results for the people and the country. The list includes primarily the party’s current MPs, who wanted to take part in the July 11 snap elections, and mayors, councilors, people from the diaspora, etc.

Andrei Năstase said his party secured the support of a number of politicians, political and civil forces, but didn’t give names. He noted the PPPDA’s list remains open.

Four parties and two electoral blocs have been registered as election contenders so far. These are the Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists, “Building Europe at Home” Party, the Common Action Civic Congress Party, the Electoral Bloc “Renato Usatîi”, the Party of Action and Solidarity and the Shor Party. The CEC is now examining the files of the Professional Movement “Speranţa – Nadejda” (“Hope”) and the Democratic Party.

The candidates can file applications to be registered until June 11, which is not later than 30 days before the election day.
