The Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) said the party’s leader Andrei Nastase, who is the common candidate of the anti-oligarchic opposition, and his team are the targets of an unprecedented campaign initiated by the TV channels that belong to oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc. The party noted this reveals fear of the eventual victory of the anti-oligarchic forces not only in the capital city, but also as a first step towards freeing the whole country from captivity, IPN reports.
In a news conference, members of the party called on the residents of Chisinau to be united, not to believe the broadcast fake news and to attentively analyze any presented information. “We should say NO to the fake news disseminated by Plahotniuc’s journalists. We are witnessing a diversion, a real crime. By the manipulating news, they fool the citizens and create informational chaos,” said the secretary general of the PPPDA Chiril Motpan.
“The manipulation is their only chance to remain in power. That’s why they hired foreign experts to help them. Lets’ say NO to manipulation, let’s unite and bring honest and upright persons into the administration to the capital city. Only together we can win,” said the party’s deputy head Liviu Vovc.
Andrei Nastase said both the Broadcasting Coordination Council and the TV channels controlled by Vlad Plahotniuc frequently and intentionally violate the law and serve only Plahotniuc’s evil interests of remaining in power, and promote the two candidates coordinated by Plahotniuc and Igor Dodon – Silvia Radu and Ion Ceban. “Dear people, don’t listen to them. They disseminate fake news about me because they know we will win the local elections by one round. They know that if we come to power, the law will be law and they will be all held accountable for the disastrous situation in the country,” stated Andrei Nastase.
The members of the PPPDA also called on the candidates for mayor general of Chisinau who do not have real chances of winning to withdraw from the race in favor of a powerful candidate.
