Representatives of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” said that in the future Parliament they will propose increasing budget allocations for the health system to 9% of the public budget and promise to increase the direct investments to hospitals, health programs, compensated drugs and medical infrastructure. According to them, during a mandate at least ten regional medical institutions will be modernized and outfitted with diagnostic and treatment devices, IPN reports.
“In time, the health system has been ignored and used for political interests. As a result, we have only political interests and only a sick population and an exhausted health system that is close to the limit. The pandemic revealed the health problems accumulated in time and showed that we need to urgently review the priorities, while the population’s health should be strategic. The PPPDA in the future Parliament aims to continue to promote a number of legislative proposals to strengthen and develop the health system,” MP Liviu Vovc told a news conference.
The MP said the party will promote initiatives to eliminate the dubious interests and criminal schemes in the pharmaceutical and health systems, to digitize the health services by electronic monitoring of the patients’ state, to increase the uninterrupted access of the population to vital medical services, to ensure fast access to consultations of health professionals according to the population’s needs for all the sections of the population, without discrimination based on residence, type of disease or other characteristics.
Attending the news conference, Dumitru Vorniciuc, doctor of the Cimișlia District Hospital, said the shortage of medical staff is a pressing problem at the local level. In Cimișlia district, only 25 of the 135 doctors remained. As a result, the quality of medical assistance decreased and the lines at medical institutions in Chisinau have grown longer.
The PPPDA also aims to regulate the relationship between doctors and patients, protecting the sides from crisis situations and unexpected circumstances and providing them with safe conditions and ensuring their essential rights. It will propose introducing concessions for health workers, such as reduction of retirement age, transport allowances and appropriate pensions.
