The MPs of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) demand to urgently unblock the legislature’s activity and to convene the Standing Bureau. The head of the PPPDA’s parliamentary group Alexandru Slusari, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, said the plenary sittings are blocked by the PSRM-PDM majority, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, Alexandr Slusari, in the name of the group, expressed their discontent with the attempt to block the Parliament’s activity and with particular actions that usurp the power in the legislature. Recently, it was decided that the parliamentary commissions will meet online, even if not all the commissions have such a possibility.
The MP expressed his indignation at the fact that the President announces what Parliament will do. The legislative body is turning into an annex of the executive power. The order to halt the meetings of the standing commissions was neither discussed, nor approved by the Standing Bureau.
According to Alexandr Slusari, the paralyzing of the Parliament’s work is not at all fair in relation to the people who daily go to work and risk their health.
The MP noted there are a number of legislative initiatives that should be urgently adopted. Among these are the law on the protection of national producers, decisions concerning the augmentation of the agriculture subsidization fund, legislative proposals for simplifying the subsidization process for this year and next year, interpretation of the Electoral Code’s provisions regarding election campaign funding and international agreements that are to be ratified.
Parliament sat the last time on September 10, when it was held the first sitting of the autumn session.
