MPs of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) said their legislative proposals are blocked in breach of the Parliament’s Regulations. In a press briefing, Vasile-Andrei Năstase said the inclusion of the draft decision concerning the adoption of a statement on political cases started against persons persecuted by the oligarchic regime in the agenda of the Parliament’s sitting was put off again. “We want to give a clear signal to society that we will go till the end as a lot of people are affected,” stated the MP, welcoming the Prosecutor General’s Office’s decision to set up an inspection group to examine the cases that were allegedly started for political reasons, IPN reports.
PPPDA MP Dinu Plîngău said the Parliament’s Regulations were violated in the February 20 sitting of the legislature and particular employees of the legislative body were forced not to authorize the inclusion of the simple motion against the policies and work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in legislative procedure.
Igor Munteanu expressed his disapproval of the attempt to delay the preparation of the bill on deooffshorization for the second reading. According to the MP, this bill is an essential element for revitalizing the public sphere, for ending any toxic connection of Moldova’s public sector with different firms registered in offshore areas. There is also sabotage on the moratorium on citizenship by investment. The postponement of the decision to extend the moratorium shows that the so-called new parliamentary majority consisting of the PSRM and PDM formed an agenda that is not in public interests and that continues to generate risks to Moldova’s national security. “The same position is adopted in the case of the “Magnitsky law” that comes with very powerful signals that we have the instruments needed to protect our public sphere, banks and other institutions against groups that try to destabilize the national economy,” said the MP.
Kiril Moțpan referred to the MPs’ refusal to invite the director of the Security and Intelligence Service Alexandru Esaulenco to report in Parliament. He said the reasons for the refusal are not clear, especially because the SIS director, in a telephone conversation, told him that he is anytime ready to answer the questions of MPs and the citizens. There are a number of questions, including concerning the Chisinau International Airport that became a subject of barter between unknown groups.
The PPPDA MPs said they are ready to block the legislature’s rostrum if the Parliament’s Regulations are violated again.
