Power producers will install in one year period modern power meters at the points of measuring supplied power at the power stations from the transport or distribution network.
This kind of provision is included in the new regulation regarding measuring power in commercial goals, approved by the National Agency for Power Regulation and registered last week at the Ministry of Justice.
According to a press release of the above mentioned agency these kinds of meters will be installed in a period of two years for measuring imported, exported and transited power through the power system network as well.
The new document provides for the installed equipment at the points of power measuring supplied to the consumers that function from the coming into force of the regulation and can be used on the entire usage period until 2010.
The specialists of the Agency think that the new regulation will stimulate the process of replacing the outdated power measuring systems with modern ones that will allow a precise counting of the power consumption and to reduce considerably the power thefts possibilities. According to the Agency, applying these measuring systems will create conditions for implementing area tariffs set in conformity with the hours of power consumption, tariffs that are practiced in the majority of the European countries.
