Power & gas suppliers risk fines of 10,000 lei, if breach licenses

The suppliers of electricity and natural gas breaking their licenses risk to be fined from 300 to 500 conventional units (6,000 – 10,000 lei), under the New Contraventional Code entering force on May 31, the Power National Regulation (ANRE) is quoted by Info-Prim Neo as warning.
Article 169 of the Contraventional Code establishes such penalties for unreasoned refusals to conclude supplying agreements, to endorse connections to power or gas grids, for unreasoned disconnecting consumers or halting the supply, for unjustified delay in connecting the new consumers to the power and gas grids and for other offenses.
The unauthorized connection to the power, heating and gas networks is fined from 40 to 100 conventional units (800 – 2,000 lei) in the case of natural entities and from 200 to 400 conventional units (4,000 – 8,000 lei) in the case of legal entities. Unauthorized usage of electricity, heating and gas by natural entities is penalized by fines from 50 to 100 conventional units (100 – 2,000 lei), the managers are fined from 75 to 200 conventional units (1,500 – 4,000 lei), and the legal entities – from 400 to 500 units (8,000 – 10,000 lei). The managers also may be deprived of the right to occupy certain offices from 3 months to 1 year.
Under the Code, ANRE-endorsed employees of power companies are entitled to find the contraventions established in art.108, 161-168. Those employees will send their findings to be considered by local public authorities.
