Power consumption in first half of year up 0.9%

The power consumption in Moldova over January-June this year rose by 14.39 million kWh or 0.9% compared with the corresponding period last year, to 1.637,3 billion kWh, the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to the ANRE, the power distribution companies - RED Union Fenosa, RED Nord and RED Nord-Vest - and eligible consumers in the period purchased 1.930,16 billion kWh of power, an increase of 1.2% compared with the first half of 2009. Red Union Fenosa bough the largest amount of power, 1.404,13 billion kWh. Technological consumption in the power transportation networks rose by 10.9% to 62.27 million kWh of power, while the technological consumption and commercial losses in the power distribution networks increased by 1.4% to 230.59 million kWh. The average rate of technological consumption and commercial losses grew by 0.06% to 12.60%. The highest rate, of 13.89% (188.8 million kWh), was reported by Red Union Fenosa. RED Nord and RED Nord –Vest did not exceed the rate of 13% allowed by the ANRE for 2010.
