The dwellers of an apartment building in Soldanesti town had a scare when a portion of the stair in their block collapsed on March 5. Building specialists examined the building and established that there was no danger for dwellers.
Contacted by IPN, mayor of Soldanesti town Ion Cuculescu said the block has five stories and the portion that collapsed is on the ground floor. A number of experts travelled to the scene, including of the district Building Division. Every apartment was examined. It was determined that there was no need to evacuate the dwellers.
The money for repair works will be allocated from the reserve fund of the mayor’s office. According to the mayor, a renovation plan has been already drafted, but an expert conclusion is first needed. Ion Cuculescu said a wooden path with balustrade was improvised in the block.
The building became available for habitation in 1987. It consists of 16 apartments, but only ten are inhabited.
