The electoral offices abroad for postal voting received 1,344 envelopes from voters. The reception process ended on Thursday evening, chairwoman of the Central Election Commission Angelica Caraman said, quoted by IPN.

In a press briefing on Friday, the CEC chief said that 1,344 envelopes out of the 1,808 sent to voters who requested to vote by post were received.

Postal voting was piloted in six states: the U.S., Canada, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, and Finland.

Angelica Caraman also warned that Friday is the last day when political campaigning is permitted. According to the Electoral Code, campaigning is strictly forbidden on election day and the day before it. The local public authorities and advertising broadcasters are obliged to remove electoral advertising materials. The ban does not apply to information that was already posted on the internet.
