Moldovans could get “Portuguese” salaries working at home. “Some Portuguese companies plan to open mixed productions or their branches in Chisinau. People won’t have to go abroad seeking better-paid jobs, but will be able to get a salary similar to a Portuguese one, not having to leave their families,” Alexandre Vassalo, the Bucharest-based Portuguese Ambassador to Moldova has told Info-Prim Neo.
He says over 35,000 Moldovans are working in Portugal now, as the Portuguese businesspeople are happy with their performance. The large majority are industrious people, doing their job well. They have gained experience that can be used in Moldova, including working for the producing entities to be opened.
“It’s for the first time when a team of Portuguese businesspeople visit Moldova, but, as can be seen, there are no communication problems and, no doubt, in a while, some of them will return to Chisinau with concrete projects,” said Alexandre Vassalo.
“As many as 289 companies with Portuguese capital are functioning in Romania only. There are about 100 of them in Poland. Many would like to extent to Moldova. They won’t have problems in finding partners and in a while we’ll have not only eight Portuguese-capital companies registered at present, but many more,” Luis Filipe Pereira, the representative of Portugal’s Investment Attraction and Foreign Commerce Agency, said.
A delegation of Portuguese businesspeople, representing 11 companies, was on a business trip to Moldova from April 9 to 11.
