A portion of the Moldovan airspace reopens today, striating at 12 noon, for civil and state aircraft. This way, regular passenger transportation can be resumed, IPN reports, with reference to the Civil Aviation Authority.

The possibility of reopening the national airspace in the context of the armed conflict in the neighboring country was examined in the meeting of the Interdepartmental Airspace Management Commission. As the Ukrainian airspace is closed and flights to the North, South and East cannot be performed, all the flights will go to and from Romania.

The rest of the airspace remains closed, including the airspace of class G (uncontrolled airspace used primarily for recreational flights) and the exceptions stipulated in the February 24 decision by the Commission for Exceptional Situations for this space can be applied, if necessary. It goes to the usage of the Moldovan airspace for repositioning flights of civil aircraft of national and foreign air operators, for commercial freight and mail transportation flights of national and foreign operators, humanitarian flights and to other cases.

The air operators that provided regular flights from the Chisinau International Airport will resume operating activities in the nearest future, as the Civil Aviation Authority said.
