Deputy Minister of Justice Sabina Cerbu said the justice reform follows now the right way and political will is needed for this reform to be successful. She made such a statement in the talk show “Good evening” on the national TV channel Moldova 1, where officials responsible for the justice sector reform spoke about the main accomplishments and the current situation in the field, IPN reports.

”We are evidently on the right way. Owing to the support provided by the U.S. and the EU, which helped us to implement the Integrated Case Management Program and the Femida program that allows recording hearings, the authorities can now ensure transparency in the legal system,” Sabina Cerbu said in the program, being quoted in a communique of the Supreme Council of Magistrates.

Special attention was paid to the new automated instruments in the legal system, which exclude the involvement of the human factor and, consequently, corruption from the legal system. “Owing to the Integrated Case Management Program, the chances for a judge or an employee to intervene to distribute a case to a particular judge had been considerably reduced,” said the president of the Supreme Council of Magistrates Victor Micu.

He noted that the people must be informed about their rights within the legal system. “When the people know the possibilities offered by the system, the chances for them to be deceived or to contribute to corrupting prosecutors or judges are considerably diminished,” stated Victor Micu.

Currently, the Supreme Council of Magistrates, with the support of the USAID Rule of Law Institutional Strengthening Program, is carrying out a campaign to inform the people about the automation of the courts of law, especially through the Integrated Case Management Program and the hearings audio recording system Femida.
