According to Chetaru the massive verification of all gambling houses that belong to 46 economical agents and licence possessors were performed as a result of the numerous victims that lodged complaints with this Gaming Houses. Within the raids the agents for fighting Trans-frontier and Informational Felonies “had many surprises”, said Viorel Chetaru. The double-entry bookkeeping of several Gaming Houses indicated an everyday income of 100-300 lei, the real income constituting nearly 6-9 thousand lei. Another surprise is the fact that the machines are programmed to eliminate any chances of winning. If normally gambling machines return 20% of the money spent by the client, the verified machines do not offer even this little chance, said Chetraru. In this context, the head of the Public Order Department from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mihai Cibotaru declared that this machines destroyed many families, and determined a lot of children to break the law in order to be in possession of money needed for playing in the Gaming Houses. The sick hazard is supported by the employees of this casinos who offer credit for those who already spent all the money, said Mihai Cibotaru. He explained that the owners of these places shouldn’t allow minors to play. Cibotaru stated that in the case this rule is broken the owner’s licence will be cancelled. According to the legislation in effect, supervising the normal functioning of Gamming Houses is the responsibility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the local public administration, The Metrology Department and the Licence Chamber.
