Policeman shoots suspect dead

A man suspected of robbery was shot dead by a police officer, while his accomplice was arrested, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the press office of the Ministry of the Interior, on March 11 in the evening a taxi driver informed the police department in Anenii Noi that two passengers attacked him and took his car, phone and money. The police launched an operation to caught the offenders. The car was found on the Chisinau-Bender route, between Todiresti and Tantareni villages. The two culprits were identified soon afterward. One of the men aimed his gun at the police officers, who opened fire. He died on the spot, while the other one was arrested. The police established the men were from Tiraspol and had a criminal record.
