Policeman fined 8,000 lei for DUI

A police officer was fined 8 000 lei for driving under the influence. He was also banned from driving a vehicle for a period of three years, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the Prosecutor General’s Office says the policeman was stopped by a traffic police inspector and asked to show the driver’s license. He presented only the police officer’s permit. The inspector asked against that he showed the driver’s license, but the police officer got onto the car and drove away. He was followed by police cars and stopped again. The breath test showed he had drunk alcohol. The policeman is 24 and works at the Briceni Police Commissariat.
