Police uncover Basarabeasca drug lab

Police discovered a clandestine drug laboratory inside a furniture factory in Basarabeasca, owned by a 26-year-old man, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Ministry of Interiors. Two rooms were specially designed to allow planting of cannabis, with equipment valued at approximately 20,000 lei, according to the Interiors Ministry. Following operative investigations, the police arrested a 31-year-old man with a criminal history who is believed to have arranged the lab inside the factory. If found guilty, the man could face a fine ranging from 4,000 to 8,000 lei or imprisonment of up to 2 years. The factory's owner could face a fine ranging from 40,000 to 80,000 lei, which will come with the deprivation of the right to practice certain business activities or the liquidation of the company. The police are further investigating the case to establish all the circumstances and persons involved in the affair.
