Employees of the General Public Transport and Communications Division and the municipal police will monitor the situation at the intersections where there are plates with green arrow allowing the drivers to turn to the right regardless of the color of the stoplights, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu Monday said a large part of the drivers are not aware of this rule and if the driver of the first vehicle from the column does not know that he must turn to the right, all the other drivers from the row have to wait. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca asked the Division and the police to detach police officers at those intersections to monitor the situation and to inform the drivers about the new rule. The first plate with a green arrow was set up at the intersection of Bucuresti St and the viaduct, which connects the districts of Centru and Botanica. Five more such plates were placed later. Another seven are to be put this week. Placing additional black boards with a green arrow showing to the right is stipulated in the updated traffic regulations approved by the Government last summer.
