The children are urged not to reveal contact or personal data such as the name, postal address, phone number, number of the school where they study or the area where they live to persons from the online environment when they use the Internet. The call was made by the General Police Inspectorate, which warns that the teens can be involved in different unpleasant situations, online harassment or blackmailing, IPN reports.

The police recommend the children to avoid doing something through the web camera and to inform the parents or a trustworthy adult or to call the Child’s Confidence Telephone (116 111 free/confidential) if a person threatens them in the online environment. They should also avoid meeting the persons with whom they get acquainted online.

For more details, the General Police Inspectorate urges to access the websites siguronline.md and internetsigur.md.

At the beginning of February, the parents were warned about the danger of children, especially teens, becoming involved in a virtual game that can lead to suicide. The parents were urged to analyze the content accessed by children and to react if something seems suspicious to them. The moderators of the virtual game exerted psychological pressure on children by causing feelings of loneliness, despair and uselessness of life.
