The police discovered five of six electoral offenses committed since the beginning of the run-up to the snap election of July 29. The announcement was made by Petru Corduneanu, a ranking official of the Internal Affairs Ministry, on July 10, at the sitting of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Info-Prim Neo reports. In Balti, three people having damaged electoral billboards of the Democratic Party were identified. Two young women were arrested and fined 600 lei each, for throwing paint at an electoral billboard in Orhei. Another case occurred in Capriana village, Straseni district, where young men wrote insulting messages on fences in the Communists' address. They have not been identified. A person was fined 400 lei for posting unauthorized materials with negative messages about the PCRM. Corduneanu has said about the arrest of the leader of the Liberal Party's branch in Falesti, a doctor. Victor Gherman is penally searched for being severely inebriated and opposing the police. When asked by electoral contestants about measures undertaken to prevent the vandalization of electoral billboards, Petru Corduneanu said more patrols were deployed on streets at night.
