More than 1,000 carabineers and soldiers of the National Army will be mobilized to clear branches and trees downed by last week’s heavy snowfalls from the streets of Chisinau. The works start at 5am on April 27, IPN reports.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip in a press briefing said that this way they want to assist the local authorities as the impact is huge. “Over 100 trucks will carry trees and branches. More than 200 persons who can professionally handle saws and over 1,000 carabineers and solders of the National Army will be involved in tree clipping and cleanup works,” stated the Premier.

According to Pavel Filip, 25 police section chiefs of Chisinau will direct the teams of workers. “I call on the inhabitants of Chisinau to be patient and to be receptive to the requests of the police. There will be many police officers on the streets during the next few days. Some of the streets will be blocked,” stated the Premier, calling on the residents of Chisinau to refrain from travelling by personal cars.

The Premier assured that the mobilized forces will work at full capacity so that the capital city is cleaned in several days.
