Three persons, including a police officer of the Botanica Police Inspectorate, are suspected of extorting half a million lei from a man for obtaining the dropping the case in which this was accused and of corrupting the investigation body, IPN reports.
According to the National Anticorruption Center, the three persons extorted and received money from a man who was arrested for trafficking in narcotic substances.
The investigation goes on. Influence peddling is punished with a fine of 20,000 to 30,000 lei or with three to eight years in jail.
