A police officer in the capital was detained after accepting a €1,000 bribe in exchange for not sanctioning a young man. The money was handed over under the control of the National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA), IPN reports.
According to the CNA, the officer allegedly demanded the sum from a young man whom he accused of conducting illegal cryptocurrency transactions. On March 6, after receiving €1,000 under CNA surveillance, the officer was detained for 72 hours. During a body search, the money was found in his possession and handed over to CNA officers.
The case is currently under investigation under the supervision of the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor’s Office.
