The police were notified, through a phone call, that the Ribnita-Rezina bridge had been mined. It happened shortly after vehicle traffic on this bridge was resumed as checks were carried out after a man with a suspicious box refused to present its contents, IPN reports.

"We describe these actions as provocations aimed at the state institutions for these to be accused of restricting the movement of citizens to exercise their right to vote," the General Police Inspectorate said in a press release.

The police noted that they are obliged to react every time according to the protocols, when bomb threats are communicated, in order to exclude any security risk to the citizens.

The police strongly recommend those who intentionally try to provoke the state institutions to refrain from such gestures and to allow the election to be conducted correctly, to permit each citizen to exercise the right to vote of and to avoid the unnecessary of resources.
