Police must not transform investigation into hunt for people, NGO

“The police should not make abuse of power and transform the investigation into a hunt for people,” Veaceslav Ombun, member of the public association Axis Mundi, told a news conference on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Ombun, the young people are the gold fund of the society and its future and they should be educated by other methods than violence. The association’s president Nicolae Buraga said that if the police are blamed, they could have a negative reaction. “I do not want to accuse the police because they will begin to think that they are culpable and will start to fight against us,” he said. The young members of Axis Mundi consider that a group composed of representatives of the authorities, the Opposition, the civil society and international organizations should conduct an investigation into the April 7 events. “Only together, by joining forces through the NGO sector, we can do something for the society,” Nicolae Buraga said. Axis Mundi is a nongovernmental organization consisting of 18 young members that aim to promote Moldova’s culture abroad.
