Dozens of police officers were mobilized near the Parliament Building and the Government Building in Chisinau. Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati said the number of policemen who maintain public order was increased in connection with the Parliament’s special sitting of January 4.
In the sitting, the candidate for Prime Minister Ion Sturza will ask for the Parliament’s vote of confidence for the government program and his team. The meeting starts at 2pm.
At the same hour, the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova intends to mount a protest against the giving of a vote of confidence to the Sturza Government.
