To prevent thefts or break-ins during the winter holidays, the police urge not to leave the homes and other property unsupervised. If they had been victims or witness to an offence, the persons are asked to call the 112 Service, IPN reports.

Alexei Grosu, chief commissioner of the General Police Inspectorate, in an online press briefing on December 31 said the parents should uninterruptedly keep the children under supervision, especially if they go out with them in public places or shopping centers.

As to pyrotechnics, the suggestion is to buy these only from specialized stores. When fireworks are set off, the people should be attentive so as not to hurt someone around.

To avoid road accidents, the police call on the drivers not to speed and not to drive under inebriation or tired.
