An online police platform that signals violations identified by citizens was launched on August 22 and will be piloted until this yearend, IPN reports.

The application can be accessed from anywhere and by anyone without registration in advance. The person choses a point on the map and then the type of threat from a pre-established list (such as alcohol use, drug use) and the hour. When the button “add” is pushed, the violation is fixed on the map.

The application does not substitute the emergency number 112. It is only an alternative method of communication between the police and the people. To report an office, the people should go to the closest police station, as now.

According to Alexandru Bejan, head of the Operational Management Division, with the development of the modern information technology and applications, the people are increasingly interested in communicating through these, to the detriment of official channels, which continue to be bureaucratized.

The application “Map of Notices” is available from amenintari.politia.md.
