The police will examine a case of aggression following the dissemination of videos showing a number of girls who seem to be minors punching and kicking another girl of the same age, who is lying. It happened in Buiucani district of Chisinau on June 9.

“The police haven’t been informed about this case, but the Buiucani Police Inspectorate, following the disseminated videos, will take measures to identify the girls who behaved aggressively towards another girl. An investigation was launched and all the circumstances are to be determined,” Chisinau Police Division spokeswoman Natalia Stati stated for IPN.

Three teenage girls aged 14 will appear before judges on hooliganism charges. In February, they beat and humiliated a girl aged 16 together with another two friends behind a shopping center situated in Ciocana district of Chisinau. The charges against the other two girls were dropped as they didn’t reach the age at which they can be held accountable, being aged 12 and 13. Instead, their parents and guardians will be fined for not fulfilling the obligations to maintain, educate and teach the child.

In accordance with the law, an act of hooliganism committed by two and more persons is punished with a fine of up to 67,500 lei or a maximum jail term of five years, while the non-fulfillment of the obligations to maintain, educate and teach the child carries a fine of at most 900 lei or 40 to 60 hours of community service.
