The observers of Promo-LEX identified eight cases of presence of unauthorized persons near polling places from 2pm until 6pm. These were mainly sympathizers of political parties, IPN reports.

In a press beefing, the head of the association’s Observation Mission Pavel Postica said there were reported five cases of electoral agitation near polling places. In Botanica district, an inhabitant of Chisinau informed the observers that a group of people campaigned in favor of an electoral contender by going from door to door and distributing electoral materials. A member of an electoral office was phoned and asked to vote for a particular candidate.

At a polling place in Botanica, a video camera was detected, but it is not known
if this is functional. At a polling place in Rascani, an unknown person brought five applications for voting by the mobile ballot box. The observers also reported 12 cases of photographing of ballots and incorrect writing of the addresses of voters. Even if there is no house No. 15 on Buiucani St in Chisinau, an electoral list showed 12 persons lived there and one of these has voted.

There were also reported two cases of violence and intimidation of members of electoral bureaus. In Rascani district, a voter got into a conflict because his name was written mistakenly in the electoral list. It happened similarly in Botanica, where the police had to intervene to calm down an inebriated voter. In another case, a voter who put his signature on the electoral register wasn’t allowed to vote because he didn’t want to have the stamp “voted” put on the loose leaf that accompanies the identity card.
