Police find 26 sacks of cannabis

As many as 26 sacks of cannabis were identified by police officers in Cantemir district. The hemp was planted and cultivated last year by six men and was found during searches at their homes, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the suspects processed the hemp plants with the aim of selling them in the southern districts of the country through the agency of accomplices. The drugs were estimated at 150,000 lei.

The men are investigated for illegal distribution of narcotic substances. They face 7 to 15 years in jail.

The police are taking steps to identify the accomplices and to establish all the circumstances of this case.
