Police confirms that Chisinau – Moscow train bomb alert is false

Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) bomb squad finished inspecting the Chisinau – Moscow train. No explosives were found on board the train. The train will resume its itinerary. Likewise, the other train that was stopped for investigation, the Moscow – Chisinau one, will resume its itinerary, reports Info-Prim Neo.
According to a communiqué from the MoI, due to efficient collaboration between the Moldovan and Ukrainian police teams, the person who launched the alarm was identified and taken into custody. It is a citizen of the Russian Federation, aged 46, passenger of the Moscow – Chisinau train.
The man was drunk. The card and phone from which the call was made were found in his possession. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident. The culprit risks a fine for 200 to 500 conventional units, sentence to unpaid community work from 180 to 240 hours, or up to 2 years in jail.
The bomb alert was announced on Saturday morning, August 25, around 5am. All passengers, of both trains, Chisinau – Moscow and Moscow – Chisinau, were evacuated. There 900 passengers in each train.
