Officers from the Fraud Investigation Division found a series of irregularities in the activity of a firm specialized in the production and sale of kvass. Its activity was suspended and all buildings sealed, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after inspecting an enterprise in Chisinau, police and State Fiscal Inspectorate officers found that the firm’s production department operaated without an authorization, and the firm’s administration had no paperwork to state the provenience of neither the intermediary goods nor the final product. MIA officers identified containers, two of which were filled with water from the capital’s central water system, and the third with 2,500 liters of solution diluted in melted sugar, similar in color to kvass. At the same location were found 3 boxes of dregs of Ukrainian production and 30 sacks of sugar. All of these were ingredients used to produce kvass, which was then sold throughout the capital. The head of the Ltd. said that he will present the necessary paperwork at a later date. During the inspection, 90 stainless steel kegs, each filled with 50 liters of kvass, were confiscated. The kegs did not have a label to state the production and the bottling date, and also lacked the provenience paperwork. Additionally, it was concluded that the station operates in unsanitary conditions.
