The police call upon the citizens to remain calm following the latest political events. The General Police Inspectorate said the guard at the state institutions of major and strategic importance was strengthened, as were the posts at embassies so as to ensure the safety of diplomats, IPN reports.
“There are many speculations. I ask you, dear citizens, not yield to provocations and to abide by the legal and constitutional provisions,” the General Police Inspectorate’s chief Alexandru Pînzari stated in a press briefing.
According top him, the police will be on duty round-the-clock to maintain public order or to restore it if need be. If protests are mounted, the police will intervene with sufficient forces.
Alexandru Pînzari also said the institution he manages and the Department of Carabineer Troops are apolitical and the citizens were witness to the fact that the police and carabineers didn’t do politics, but served the law and the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
