Police arrest three alleged procurers and pimps

Three young persons were arrested by the Centre for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (CCTHB) on suspicion of trafficking in human beings and pimping.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two persons, a man, 28, and a woman, 22, are suspected of trafficking girls to Turkey.
The suspects were caught by the law enforcement bodies while they were heading to the Chisinau International Airport, where they were expected by two girls, residents of Chisinau and Rabnita, who were promised to be employed at night clubs in Turkey. The suspects would have allegedly received USD 3,000 for each girl upon their arrival in Turkey.
The investigation found that the traffickers were targeting young unemployed girls. They were convincing the victims by promising them impressive sums of money. In addition, they were concluding the documents necessary for the departure and were paying the tickets.
CCTHB continues the investigations to find the third accomplice, who according to the preliminary data is the resident of Transnistria, where he was finding the girls from.
The officers of the department have recently arrested a Chisinau resident suspected of being a pimp. The policemen were informed that the young man, 25, has a group of girls who offer sexual services in the saunas of Chisinau. The suspect was arrested while transporting three young women at one of the saunas. For one hour of sex, the girls were paid EUR 25, of which MDL 200 they were giving to the pimp.
Penal proceedings were initiated against the three arrested young persons. In case they will be found guilty they might be imprisoned for 7-15 years.
