Police arrest thieves of luxury car wheels

Four young men from Criuleni district are suspected of forming part of a criminal group stealing wheels from luxury cars. During a night alone, they stole property to the value of about 20,000 lei.
General Police Commissariat spokesman Adrian Jovmir has told Info-Prim Neo that the suspects aged between 18 and 21, from Izbiste and Cruglic villages of Criuleni district, committed the thefts at night. They stole wheels from luxury cars parked near apartment buildings in Chisinau.
According to the police, on the night of September 9 the four stole four wheels from a BMW and a wheel from a Mercedes Benz, which were parked in yards of apartment buildings situated on Petru Zadnipru St in Ciocana district. They transported the wheels by the minibus owned by one of the four thieves.
It was established that the men sold the wheels on the black market. Earlier, they stole the wheels of a Mercedes Vito.
The four men face a fine of 6,000 to 20,000 lei or imprisonment of up to four years for theft.
