The alleged murderer of the woman whose body was found in the Nistru River not far from Vadul lui Voda town on June 13 was placed under arrest for 72 hours. The 42-year-old man admitted his guilt. He was earlier tried in Russia for different offenses, including two times for murder. The man is investigated for intentional murder and faces up to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The identity of the victim was discovered. The woman was aged 41 and lived in Chisinau. Legal examiners determined that she was first killed and then thrown into the Nistru.
On June 19, the court is to examine the prosecutors’ request to put the man on remand for 30 days.
