Police arrest second suspect in Comrat taxi-driver assault case

The police have arrested the second suspect that participated in an assault on a taxi-driver in Comrat district. He was found in Briceni district, at the house of his girlfriend. According to a MoI press release, the 30-year-old man was taken to Comrat where he will be under preventive arrest together with the other suspect, 26, caught by the police within just a few hours after committing the crime. The suspects were charged with robbery and face up to 15 years in prison. On September 1 early morning, a taxi-driver was assaulted by two passengers in Congaz village in Comrat. Besides the car, the aggressors also stole 600 euros, 100 dollars and 4,000 lei.
