The police said they identified the authors of the murder attempt made on a businessman from Stoianovca village of Cantemir district in November 2018. Then, the victim aged 43 got gunshot wounds while in the yard of his house.
The victim started businesses in agriculture together with a 38-year-old man from the same village. A number of disagreements over the distribution of the revenues and property gained in time appeared later between the business partners. Last November, the man was threatened by an unknown and told to get out of his yard. As he refused, the suspect entered the yard and fired a revolver for seven times at the victim. The man was rushed to the Cantemir District Hospital in a serious state and was operated.
The police established that the victim’s business partner used the services of a 49-year-old prisoner who recommended him a ‘killer’ aged 30 from Chisinau municipality.
General Police Inspectorate press officer Mariana Bețivu has told IPN that both the victim’s business partner and the suspect who wounded the man were arrested. The prisoner who played the role of intermediary is also featured in the case that was recently sent to court.
The suspects face 12 to 20 years behind bars.
