More than 1,500 people were helped by the police during the last two days, being towed away from snowdrifts. Police officers deal with over 900 emergencies and about 200 cases of removal of snow from yards of buildings, IPN has learned from the General Police Inspectorate.

Over 1,800 policemen all over the country provided assistance to persons who faced difficulties owing to the elements. The police were also involved in the easing of road traffic and provision of aid to drivers whose vehicles got stuck in snow piles. They also aided elderly people from the community to overcome difficulties.

Those who are in difficulty should call the emergency services 901 and 902.
