Poland offers €1m for modernizing Mother and Child Institute

The Mother and Child Institute of Chisinau will receive medical devices to the value of over €1 million. The money will be provided by the Government of Poland that accepted a project proposal submitted by the Ministry of Health of Moldova, IPN reports.

The first stage of the project includes the equipment of the Mother and Child Institute with electroencephalographs, multifunction patient monitors, high-frequency neonatal ventilators, defibrillators, resuscitation tables, incubators for premature babies, ultrasound machines, operating lamps and tables, electrosurgical units, etc.

Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco and her Polish counterpart Adam Niedzielski in a meeting on Monday agreed the next steps of the project to modernize the medical institution. Minister Niedzielski expressed readiness to further support Moldovan authorities’ efforts to modernize the health system.

In 2009-2022, 28 projects to the value of about €500,000 were implemented in Moldova’s health system with the assistance of the Government of Poland.
