Poland offered a batch of computers for the Apparatus of the Moldovan Government. By the end of this year, Moldova will also receive a loan of over $ 15 million from Poland to cover the budget deficit, Info-Prim Neo reports. The lending conditions will be negotiated by the end of this year. The first round of talks was held in Warsaw. “This assistance is welcome. After its building was devastated, the Parliament remained only with the pencil and the table,” the Head of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu told a news conference on November 16. “We back Moldova in its efforts to join the EU and intend to implement wider development assistance projects in the future,” the Ambassador of Poland said in the same news conference. Krzysztof Suprowikz said they will launch soon a project to renovate the maternity ward of the National Hospital. Another project will be implemented in a Transnistrian settlement, where there will be built a new aqueduct. The Ambassador also said that the Government of Poland is ready to open talks over a loan for the country’s infrastructure. “We had an agreement with the previous government, but the lending term expired on August 14 and the loan was not raised.” Krzysztof Suprowikz said the Government of Poland is disposed to renew this agreement. The Ambassador also said that about 8,000 visas for Poland had been issued to Moldovans last year. The only problem is that the Moldovan citizens go to Poland for other purposes than those mentioned in the application and stay longer than allowed, he said. In the end, Krzysztof Suprowikz stressed the Embassy of Poland will be a good and devoted fiend for Moldova.
