The inhabitants of Pohrebea village of Dubasari district are protesting against the setting up of two checkpoints by the Transnistrian authorities in the immediate vicinity of the settlement, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the deputy head of Dubasari district Maria Jambei, the Transnistrian authorities do not intend to remove the customs post and ignore the requests of the Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC). Moreover, they brought a railway car, placed barriers and speed limit signs and connected the customs posts to the power supply. The vehicles crossing the area are checked. The locals are indignant because the road where the two customs posts were built up was repaired with the money of the Pohrebea mayor’s office and the villagers. Ion Leahu, the representative of the Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission, said it is highly improbable that the problem will be solved as the representatives of Transnistria did not come to one of the customs posts, where the delegations agreed to meet. The protesters intend to block the Chisinau-Dubasari road. The Join Control Commission is to convene in Dubasari. The preparations for setting up the two customs posts began on November 23. [Rectification:] {The first news story broadcast on October 25 at 12.58 contained a mistake. The representatives of the Ukrainian delegation went to the customs post where the delegations of the JCC agreed to meet. Only the representatives of Transnistria did not show up. }
