From November 29, the National Liberal Party (PNL) of Romania will have a local organization in Moldova too, in Chisinau, the party’s administration announced in a news conference at IPN. Romanian senator Viorel Badea said the opening of this organization forms part of the party’s strategy for creating branches all over the world.
“We decided to set up a branch in Moldova as well because many of the party’s sympathizers and members who have the domicile here asked to be represented by a local organization in the state where they live,” stated the senator.
The organization’s acting head Tudor Cojocariu said the approach to set up an organization of the PNL Romania in Moldova, on the one hand, represents an expression of the wish of the Romanian people from Moldova to act as members in the most powerful center-right party of Romania. On the other hand, it represents the materialization of the party’s political strategy aimed at providing an efficient political framework for the Romanian citizens everywhere.
Romanian MP Ionut Stroe noted that the PNL Romania supports and is fully open to the Romanians from abroad. “It’s a pity that this organization in Moldova was set up later than in the other countries. We always considered that both those from the left side and those from the right side of the Prut are Romanians,” he stated.
Radu Surugiu, a member of the PNL Romania, said that any type of connection is welcome for promoting the European course of both of the states. “I hope that Moldova will also confirm this road that it chose several years ago. I’m confident that the creation of a PNL branch in Moldova and in other states is a natural and very important step. We commit ourselves to promoting the liberal values and the values of the political right from Romania in Moldova, and I hope that this thing will help to confirm the democratization and the choice of a correct path for everyone,” he stated.
MP of the PNL Romania Mugurel Cozmanciuc said the opening of this organization in Moldova points to unity and intention of cooperation in the future.
