PM Tarlev distributes budget surplus

PM Vasile Tarlev launched on Tuesday, May 8 the initiative on amending the State Budget, due to the surplus revenue accumulated in the first fourth months of 2007. According to the proposed decision, the funds totalling about MDL 518.4 mln, accumulated in January-April 2007 will be disbursed for eight purposes. In order to implement the Law on the Salary system in the state-paid field, the PM proposed to allot MDL 150 mln; for the construction of the railroad track Cahul-Giurgiulesti – MDL 100 mln; for the implementation of the gasification programme – MDL 115 mln; for repaying VAT to farmers – MDL 29 mln; to the fund for the support of the vineyards – MDL 14 mln; for refitting the towns and cities – MDL 41 mln; for the purchase of “Moscow” amusement venue – MDL 33 mln; for roadworks – MDL 36.4 mln. The PM mentioned that the urgent plans of the Government for this year require additional expenses of at least MDL 5 bln. According to the data provided by the Ministry of Finance, revenues of about MDL 3.624 bln were collected, which is by MDL 518.4 mln more than planned.
